Peter's Plant is a community-scale biogas system designed for Makers Valley, Johannesburg, transforming organic waste into clean cooking fuel to improve energy access and reduce reliance on unsafe household fuels. The project also introduces bio-based insulation for overcrowded homes and a custom gas cylinder trolley, demonstrating how circular design can address waste, housing, and energy challenges through a community-led approach.
Follows the Engineering for People Design Challenge organized by Engineers Without Borders UK, however TU/e did not formally participate.
